Shared guest rooms
The Domaine de La Lipomerie is the ideal place to stay on the edge of the Perche region.
We welcome you to our charming guest rooms in a spirit of hospitality, sharing, and learning.
Mindful of the environment around us, we offer you a peaceful and relaxing stay for a moment of escape suspended in time, close to nature.
A building steeped in history
A former fortified farmhouse, La Lipomerie has evolved over the centuries into a beautiful residence comprising a coherent group of buildings that reflect its former rural prosperity. It has been passed down from family to family since the 16th century, until my arrival four years ago.
I was charmed by its simplicity and solidity behind its elegance. Under its hipped roof, thick stone walls, and period features, it is a house where time stands still, reflecting the humility of our fleeting existence in comparison to its great age.
This inhabited house invites tranquility.
In its beautiful spaces, in front of a fireplace, you can breathe in the peaceful and modest history of this place.
Time seems to stand still, worries fade away.
In harmony with nature
At the heart of its four-hectare estate, Domaine de la Lipomerie lives in harmony with nature.
Next to the old apple press barn, there is a permaculture vegetable garden, beehives, a farmyard, and a small herd of rustic and affectionate Thomes and Mortens sheep. The pastures are populated with nutritious and decorative plants and species, bordered by living fences of espalier fruit trees.
These trees bear witness to the infinite richness of our arboreal heritage and delight us with their 30 varieties of apples and pears. Nature is generous.
Your host
As a healthcare professional, caregiver, and someone who values human relationships, as well as a mother of four children, I was struck by hyperacusis following a strange accident, which made my life in Paris difficult. The need for calm and silence, for a better connection with nature, and to be able to share this led me to La Lipomerie.
Here, in this rural area, I am building a simple life, punctuated by the seasons, listening to the earth, the sun, the rain, the animals, the insects, the fruits, and the trees. My permaculture vegetable garden makes me dream of food self-sufficiency, of food that is good for the body. My beehives teach me how much we too are part of a whole, where each individual contributes to a purpose greater than ourselves.
Like the permaculture in my vegetable garden, I believe that knowledge fertilizes itself, intersects, shelters, and thrives to create abundance. This residence contributes to this with its very essence and long history. Coming to La Lipomerie means choosing an estate that nourishes, an estate that repairs, an estate that elevates.
